Escaping to Great Barrier Island, NZ
Travel To Australia March 25th, 2010

Hey and also Z, easily-bored read the story my trip to NZ. Not to tout, think of this as a note comparison (comparison) that the natural beauty there is also found in some of our homeland. And I hope in the future, 2 beautiful places that lay in the country that was able to run / manage the attractive and clean as possible as well as tourism objects in NZ / other countries.
In my opinion, these two things is one of the main key why other countries tourism is developed. That is all my hope, because if we nation-as a child – the campaign who else can? I agree, however the country itself is a major, although personally, when I’ve settled in foreign countries and still wrote to experience a sense of disappointment.
I myself was quite shocked, only this time it knows that no new my passport was owned by 2 different people (me and others). Well … well … well … is not it supposed to be a unique passport number, only 1 for one person. So check this time to get on a plane yesterday (both as to leave and go back to Oz) I had had a little ‘interference’. Ticket reservation clerk rather confused with the condition of my passport, so I had to wait almost 1 hour for check clearing business in!
I’m more surprised when he can be an explanation of the check in at the counter (as in NZ want to OZ), which says that a case like this is nothing new for Indonesian passport holders. Because before he ever met the same case, passport number 1 is owned by 5 different people! Until my husband was only able to shake my head 2, which I respond with a slightly joking, that’s great my country, clever and creative! Ha ha ha …. Opsss, however I still love Indonesia, still have not kepikiran replace the Kiwi bird Garuda with others or even ….
Ok, let’s begin our adventure Escaping to the Great Barrier Island (GBI) of New Zealand. Journey to the GBI is the last series of our trip to NZ before heading back to OZ. On this island my mother-in-law resided. For the GBI have two alternative paths can be taken, ferry or small plane. Long story short because I wanted to come fast and practical we chose peawat up smaller than a ferry that took 4-5 hours, even if the weather is good. Well … instead of all the sick (sick boat) ya udah mending the plane was 30 minutes.
I actually kind of scared, life had never been on a small plane that reply was no wind and the clouds churned like a roller coaster, the passengers were up to 10 people (plus pilot). Size wagon just like (but flying), so passengers can only carry 10 kg of luggage per person, several koalas were counted as baggage that he he, we had to leave luggage bags in 2 of our airline counter (in Auckland) for us to GBI. Oh yes, when was asked to check in passengers weight, is to determine the position of sitting on the plane I’ll balance (it was not in college wrote a sitting position determining grade point ha ha). Well, instead of no other option, yes enjoying the birds fly with an iron …
From Auckland aircraft about 30 minutes across the sea to the GBI (the time the weather is good). Thank God, the weather was a good fit, so I can see the nice pictures below, yup landschap Auckland city and the small islands around it. And 30 minutes later we arrived at the GBI … waow of the island already has a big appeal. Clean beaches dotted valleys and verdant.
GBI location in the northeast of Auckland, its population was 800 people, not surprised at GBI itself felt on the island. Although quite full of amenities, there are council offices, libraries, police stations, primary schools, high school, 1 supermarket, small shop 3, 2 and 3 post offices which were located far apart café (spread on the west coast and east coast). From the west coast to the east coast could by car within 1 hour. If anyone is sick and the health centers (local doctor) can handle will be taken to fly by helicopter to Auckland. The city center itself is in the east coast just a small airport (really), council offices, post offices, cafes and small shops plus a gas station. It seems they are highly dependent in Auckland, surprised if the price-2 here (especially food) 1.5 times more expensive than Auckland (because they have to calculate freight).
Long time no see mother-in-law, we find him now with a lifestyle far different, especially because since 5 years ago he decided to become a Buddhist priest (Buddist Nun). That choice also makes the mother-in-law who lived his life with the simple. Every week he led the people who want to pray. At certain moments she also held a workshop (mentoring) such as meditation, healing, Counseling for the counselor, who all were free because of backed up by the charity / charities shelter where the mother.
Mother lived in a cottage (small house of wood) a fairly complete interior even simple amenities. Usually in each cottage (main house) will be equipped with 1 or 2 small pavilion (called the lodge), which were located close together on the side / back of the cottage. Lodge rooms include a bed, living room, kitchen and toilet to be one (studio term is) that some of the interior of the timber.
In one of the lodge we stayed here during his stay at the GBI. Because there is no heater (space heater) the ancient furnaces became our heating. From the lodge terrace, the view was beautiful spread, kokiers please enjoy.
Mother-in-law are vegetarians also do not have a refrigerator to store vegetables, fruit, eggs and others remain durable, the mother had a special box which functions like a refrigerator, a wooden box is like a small cupboard on the wall and placed the kitchen bay walls of houses in every part of its sides perforated for air circulation. Said the mother, most people GBI does not have a refrigerator like in big cities due to box up the program of food hygiene and durable, since the air around a relatively cool and clean. To wash clothes to the laundry had to be in the city center once a week, even though they have the means to wash the manual (including gilesannya) made of wood (old Home style).
That simple lifestyle GBI community, to meet the needs of daily life they rely on the results of organic gardening (fruits, vegetables) and maintaining livestock (chicken, lamb) to take the result (egg / milk). A simple life like this is perfect for those who like to retreat (retreat), Escaping (escape from boredom / busy) or the travelers who love a challenge.
So what can be traced in GBI? Well if you have a lot of hard time would I search for all. Because cuman 4 days here and that does not allow sikon then only a few interesting places that I can visit. In general GBI-2 has the object of interest because a series of mountains, waterfalls in the interior of the forest, river-2 and clean beaches and pools of hot water hot springs are natural left / what it is.
Some of the places I visited include the street-2 in the woods (forrest track). There bebapa choice / place for this, I happened to choose a somewhat ‘rational’ in accordance with the conditions that brought us child. My dining select one of the course a little flat. On this track forrest river encountered small (creek) that the water was very clear, clean and shallow. Sweet sound of water combined with a variety of bird chirp sounds like a natural orchestra. What a delight. Unfortunately we do not successfully reach the target (see the waterfall) and the pool of hot water (hot springs) sikon remember that moment.
Frankly I was not able to go around the 1 hour (5-10 km) while carrying your baby could well gout and hi hi body. This is because it was impossible for the little one is still 19 months road alone. Though surprised really, the junior would carry beloved, if I can share with her hubby pretty well … oh ….’s Fate! But for me include photos hot tub (hot springs) shots of my husband’s been there 8 years ago before marrying his mother koala hi hi bebe. If it falls, according to the report was not for my husband who in Cibodas especially Tawangmangu … he he my husband’ve been to these two attractions with dear wife. So, this heart …. It’s a bit of curiosity is still there.
back from the jungle, back to the beach yuk. In the GBI at least two well-known beach beauty. The first Medland Beach, this beach is located almost in the middle between the islands of the western and eastern parts. So if you want to go west or east coast will pass Medland Beach. The beach tends to flat and sandy yellow. The waves were quite ‘cool’ and not large. Therefore good to play and bring the family here.
While the Kaitoke Beach on the western part of the island rather large waves. White sandy beach and decorated with lots of rocks, which decorate the great beach. In other parts of the shoreline also encountered a stone tunnel which carries such a steep creek. Wow … this beach is good for those who like a challenge because it can track a variety of beaches lips.
Not far from there Kaitoke Beach Mermaid Pool. Swimming is popular and has become one of the icons in addition to hot springs GBI above. Location is somewhat hidden, to walk down the rocks. To see the Mermaid Pool must wait after 2 pm, when the sea water receded somewhat. And this pool is like a bath of a mermaid. According to the mother-in-law, the Mermaid Pool water will look clear blue when the summer (the weather is good, not cloudy). That nature GBI …. It was still pure and beautiful … something that we can sample for nature conservation in the beloved country.
To the Antarctic Ice Continent
Travel To Australia March 25th, 2010

When mid-December and then I asked permission to go to Antarctica, the head of my office was shocked. In the face of disbelief, he repeated sentence, “To Antarctica, a trip to the South Pole, what joy?
Flight to Antarctica can only be done in December, when the summer there. If it does not come means I have to wait until next year to visit the icy continent.
Hearing this explanation, finally after a long sigh, my head told, “Be careful, yes.”
Schools mentioned in the explanation, the earth has five continents: Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Australia. Unfortunately, we often do not realize, that in the south there, at the base of the planet, there is the land area of 14 million square kilometers, or two times larger than Australia. Mainland is not inhabited because 98 percent of its area covered with perennial ice layer thickness 2.3 to 4.8 km.
The south, the bottom of the planet, or similar terms, it is simply an agreement. In the perspective of space, where the earth in which we live today is just one among a sprinkling of other heavenly bodies, direction and guidance places become very relative.
However Antarctica stores 70 percent of world reserves of clean water. If there melted layer entirely, sea levels will rise as high as 70 meters. This means, all port cities in all corners of the earth would be drowned, wiped off the map. With this kind of position, the role of Antarctica on global climate, particularly for the southern hemisphere, is very meaningful.
With natural conditions, only the moss and micro-organisms living in the Antarctic region. Seals, penguins, and some birds just stopped in to lay their eggs.
“Otherwise, they chose to live in the surrounding islands,” said Phil Asker, Director of Croydon Travel, manager of flight to Antarctica.
No Stores
“Welcome to the world’s only Antarctica Sightseeing flights,” said Captain John Dennis from the wheelhouse. Simultaneously, the four engine Boeing 747-400 aircraft that he flew Qantas started roaring.
We immediately took off from Sydney Airport, Australia. The plane flew directly to the south. Carrying 300 passengers, 170 tons of fuel, and 6500 kg of food.
As he joked, Phil Asker said, “In the south there are no open stores, so everything we have to prepare.”
Flight to Antarctica requires a special permit plus an experienced pilot. To preserve the natural forbidden to leave the garbage there.
In addition, since the objective is a very delicate area given the weather can turn into an unfriendly, flight to Antarctica is always monitored by satellite from the center of meteorology at Casey’s, East Antarctica. In addition, aircraft routinely received the following weather forecast all the information at the destination.
Why do airlines only in December?
Captain Dennis explains, “In the southern hemisphere, especially in the month of December, the Sun will appear for 24 hours straight, so there could be seen. In other months, day and night is dark because the sun shifts to the north … ”
To reach Antarctica, visitors can take boat or plane. It took three weeks when on a ship. With the aircraft, when flying from Sydney, the region will be achieved within six hours.
Round-trip ticket for the 3199 executive class or approximately U.S. $ 27.5 million. The cheapest economy class, there are two kinds. Passengers on the side of the window to pay 1099 dollars and the middle seat 799 dollars.
I’m with NHK Japanese TV crew was invited by the ATC (Australian Tourist Commission) is much more fortunate. Despite sitting in the middle, it was invited into the cockpit to monitor flight.
After three hours of flying, the top of the first iceberg was beginning to look. Towering majestic, white sea ice over the net, at the foot of the sky.
Because summer in December, could be seen from the cockpit interesting process. Some of the iceberg began to melt, the ice chunks falling giant looks, and then forming islands floating ice that immediately following the ocean currents.
We’re still lucky, a small part in the Antarctic ice sheet melted only in the summer month of December. I have no power to imagine what would happen if all melted and sea levels rising world simultaneously.
No Pointing Compass Direction
That day, according to satellite, the safest route for going to Antarctica must pass Cape Adare. Beach is very famous for over a hundred years ago became the first boat landing, the British ship the Antarctic.
Who was the first to land, still be debated. The official did H.J. Bull, the helmsman. However, captain just before landing, one of the crew, Carstens Borchgrevink, was preceded by reckless jump to the beach.
In the land of eternal ice-covered area, the most amazing view of hills Admiralty. Ice hill row culminating in Mt. Minto 4163 meters high. As far as the eye could see, looked very steep valley Glaciers, rows and rows as if ready to catch all the visitors.
Although previously described, I was very surprised when I suddenly saw the needle in the compass direction of spinning uncertain, as the plane began to cross the South Magnetic Pole.
“The direction a compass needle is part of confusion, because he did not know where the south pole and north pole, where lies. Do not be afraid, aircraft equipped with INS (Inertial Navigation System), so it will not get lost even though here the compass can not function, “said Captain Dennis, announce the charm of natural wonders.
For those who want to taste life in the atmosphere of the South Pole but was afraid to fly there, can enjoy Antarctic Adventure program in Hobart, the capital of the island of Tasmania, southeast Australia. The form of an enclosed garden area of 3800 square meters, which presents a variety of sensations following attractions in Antarctica, including sampling of air temperature of minus 25 degrees Celsius.
I am more fortunate can enjoy themselves has the original atmosphere of the Antarctic region. Region two times the width of Australia; that all the time is always white, clean, frozen, with no pollution, which is, in the shadow lay, far south in there, but actually located below. Because Antarctica is at the bottom of the planet where we live so far

100% Pure New Zealand
Travel To Australia March 24th, 2010

A few weeks into a silent reader for a traveler in the land plus the internet connection was not a like home , I returned this present time I am trying to write by-2 on my way to New Zealand are still in winter (winter). Hopefully the story and picture-2 is presented fairly entertaining all. Understandably because amateur snapshots, if the result is less let alone take a picture with a maximum child care.
Well this is the fate of street children, I mean hi hi fate we (me and my little one) who boarded the street-2 with a husband who happened to get a job to NZ for a month. The first two weeks in August during my Monday-Friday and forced the little-although very enjoy-road-2 alone around Auckland and the surrounding areas. We use the bus (bus link modern) and sometimes the taxi when it is exhausted to measure the road, turning adventure ha ha.
What is clear what I write is a place-2 favorite (my version) that I visit with my child while in Auckland. Thank God, the next 2 weeks off from her husband could work, so he promised to take us down the big island, south of the city of Nelson, a city where a brother lives – mostly snow-covered area. Also to the Great Barrier Island, a small island east of north, distant island where most stunning beaches are still pure, where the mother-in-law is now settled. And if there be time to Taupo (lake water because of volcanic heat) in the southern part of the north island. Easy-2an later I will write in the second part.
To be sure I was fascinated by the natural beauty of New Zealand has two main islands (stretches north and south) during the first two weeks here. True nature-2 pure, beautiful and preserved d beauty. Fitting when they are heavily advertised on television Australian country using mantra as mentioned above, 100% Pure New Zealand, live, breath and experience New Zealand. If talking business law, buyers (tourists / visitors) are by advertising that they offer. Nature and all the facilities provided including his adventure tour is to make people feel at home for long enjoyed the laid back lifestyle (relaxed for a moment) in the country this white cloudy called by the Maori as Aotearoa. So, Nau Mai Haere Mai te Aotearoa (welcome to NZ).
I assume NZ (mainly Auckland) did not change much as 5 yrs ago for the first time I visited here for to the mother-in-law. Armed with a pocket book and map guides that I can be free at the airport, be I-2 preparations wherever that may be able 2 visit with my baby. Please note that the texture fluctuates (aka flats like Melbourne) and had to push pram (baby carriage) plus passenger who weighs 13 kg with public transport, so I had to choose which smart-2 interesting according and our interests But if I thought the street-2 is useful once again to my programs back to normal weight aka post-baby body and it was diligent road up and down the’ve seen the results because the husband said, the more body
OK let’s start it, I am most happy to visit the object-2 is rich in elements of tradition, culture and adventure and certainly can admire its natural beauty. So it suits the agenda notes, the museum is the place to visit.
In Auckland there are at least 2 of my favorite museums, the Maritime Museum which is near down town and the Auckland Museum is in a fragment of a little hill to the south of the city.
In the Maritime Museum I enjoyed the Te Waka (the great journey) 2 Polynesian people (who later became a native NZ / Maori tribes) came to this beautiful country. During 15 minutes of visitors presented the film about the journey on the big screen.
Once you are satisfied to see the collections and the stories of their long journey into one of the leading maritime nation in the world, please berleha-inattentive in the café, looking at the pier where the boat clean (private) and commercial dock while waiting for passengers.
On this pier the passengers will be delivered to the 2 small islands around Auckland such as Waiheke or other cities that happened 2 separated by the sea (beach).
While at the Auckland Museum, I was struck by the beauty of the museum building is like a castle in the story-2 said that I have ever read.
This beautiful building stands majestically on a fantastic land, because of high enough so that we can see the sights of Auckland city. The museum complex is located in the Auckland Domain has interesting programs in particular 2-day-culture and the appearance of Maori art, including the spiritual and the haka was phenomenal. The collection is not asked, so diverse and interesting. History and culture of New Zealand presented in the museum’s complete.
some of the city of Auckland is presenting what we want. Consider just Auckland City Council’s magnificent downtown.
Meanwhile, because I was intrigued to enjoy a walk while window shopping in the old town, then Parnell is the right choice. This place was once the elite of the oldest communities in Auckland, while the now-2 even though the old house, church and so still like the original but its function has turned into cafes, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants elite.
Speaking of restaurants, because many people and Asian tourists here, serving Japanese-style restaurants, China, Korea, India and even Malaysia was easy to find according to taste. If you are fond of enjoying a dish of bright life including games, cinema, casino, restaurant and looked at Auckland from a height, try the Sky City complex.
The tower height is 328 m was the highest for the southern hemisphere of the earth including the Eiffel beat (Paris). As one of Auckland landmarks, we can observe the natural beauty presented below. If you want a little spinning-2 ria please hang in Orbit Revolving Restaurant which can turn 360 degree.
Auckland enjoyed not only the towers and high places. With unique natural conditions (lots of beach and bay), then one option is to go down the beach-2 and the beautiful bay which is not too far from downtown. One of my favorites is Mission Bay.
Here, in addition to looking at a beautiful home-style mansion 2 of the have there at the foot of the hill, we could see Auckland from a distance. Unfortunately this city during the winter are often overcast and rainy, so I also got pictures receive the effects
Another alternative is to climb Mount Eden. Do not imagine this as a real mountain soaring. Mount Eden but it is the highest point in Auckland. Here’s the lay style, if you ask me, like Auckland is basically a big bowl too (Auckland city) is not flat. This special texture Auckland city makes quite interesting and not boring.
Well as a volcanic country, Mount Eden is one of the significant legacy. A sacred place presents a spectacular sight. After climbing by car (or walking) a few minutes reached the peak of such a large gaping crater, but no gas or something. Because the bottom of the crater only 2an volcanic rocks.
My husband said that had a large in Auckland, used during the teen likes to climb Mt Eden with friends and of course 2nya party (race car) and so on. Fortunately, now all these activities are prohibited, there are restrictions on time of visit (not as before a supposedly free 24 hours) to maintain its sustainability. I do not know whether it was the custom of bringing his sheep breeders to Mt Eden to cut the grass along the hills there. What is clear, my husband used to love to see them as all helped shepherd.
Well, one of my most favorite thing is to stay long in beautiful gardens are scattered in Auckland. Among the leafy Albert Park which as many old trees and 2 large or to the Western Park is hilly and beautiful 2.
Meanwhile, around the Auckland Museum there is Duck Pond (duck pond) which provided for the habitat of ducks, geese and friends-2nya activities. Auckland Domain in the complex citizens jogging or relax for a while to feed the ducks-2’s or see one of rugby’s favorite sports here.
Meanwhile far from the Duck Pond is also a Winter Garden (garden of flowers in the room) that makes my eyes blink often so impressed. Flower-2 blooming beautifully.
Large room in the winter park is divided into 3 parts, namely the room for interest-winter 2, fountain (water fountain) and the tropical room for interest-2 from tropical countries. A clear eye and the inner entertained after browsing the Winter Garden and of course again!
If tired and want to rest for a moment there was a canteen that served tea, coffee and hot chocolate while enjoying the variety of muffins. Hmmm that’s so cold that pierced the bone was no longer any
There’s another new favorite of mine for at Auckland, which is enjoying the arrival of the rainbow. True also what my husband said that said that the country as a Rainbow Land. While in Auckland I had several times enjoyed the rainbow. If you are reluctant to where-2 due to rain, then hung out on the balcony is a great choice. After the rain stopped for a moment and then the sun was shining brightly and voila … .. beautiful rainbow in the sky just cloudy.
That’s one of the characteristics of this city for 2 weeks in August is a place for me and my little corner of the move while browsing the city-2 is not boring!
